Hitting the Road, Finally!

The next day after a short walk through Reykjavík with my uncle, we said bye for the next 9 days again and headed to the airport. We got our luggage, changed the car and the trip was on! We decided to turn anti clock-wise and drive eastwards first.

Our itinerary for the next days looked like the following. We booked all of our guesthouses upfront via booking.com:

Brú Guesthouse: Modern, simple and well equipped place. Great for a night or two to explore the area around Seljalandsfoss.
Hrifunes Guesthouse: We loved our one night stay here. Very cute and clean guesthouse with amazing food and lovely hosts.
Höfn Guesthouse: Simple and affordable guesthouse. Good for one night.
Blabjorg Guesthouse: Another highlight of the trip. Simple rooms, but nice location and great little restaurant plus spa area including outdoor hot tubs.
Guesthouse Brekka: Rather remote guesthouse in the Myvatn area. Good place if you plan to head towards the waterfalls of the region early to avoid the crowds.
Kirkjufell Guesthouse: Stunning view, new place. Great kitchen for self-catering.
Fossatun Camping Pods & Cottages: Cheap option if you plan to explore Snaefellsnes for the entire day and are heading back to Reykjavík the next day.
